The Founders Of Judaism





Abraham was the fonder of Judaism. He started the religion 3900 years ago. It started when an evil pharaoh in Egypt took control in what's today Israel He also created the ten commandments a very important sacred writing. Isaiah was a religious leader as well as Moses. He kept the religion going by making everyone turn to god for everything. That's the main way he kept the religion of Judaism going.

Places of Worship

Jewish people have many places of worship. They mainly call these places synagogues. But they also call these places shuls and temples. The religion was big but since the holocaust the believers of Judaism had dropped to 17 million. Today Judaism has the least amount of followers.

Where is Judaism Practiced Today and Where it got Started

The religion started in what is today Israel and North Africa. North Africa's religion changed over to Islam. In the middle east most of the area today is Islam. Only some countries today have Judaism believers. These countries include Israel, United States, Russia, and Canada.

Jewish festivals

Big jewish holidays include Hanukkah and The High Holy Days. The High Holidays-this is when people remember what they've done wrong and how they lived in the past year. Hanukkah- people light candles chant sing songs and blessings are recited.

Main Beliefs

The main beliefs of Judaism are that there is only one god. God is all mighty and powerful,he is all knowing, and in all places at all times. God has no beginning and fulfills his promises, he' s merciful.

Sacred Writings

There are many sacred writings. The main two are the Torah and the ten commandments. The Torah contains contains the Old Testament in the Christian Bible. Torah also contains B'reshit (in the Beginning), Sh'mot(the going out of Egypt),Dvarim, Vayyikra.
